• Dear Parents and Students,

It is with great pleasure I welcome you back for the 2022-2023 school year at Arlington High School! We have a long-standing motto at Arlington High, "There is something for everyone,"" and I am excited to see that tradition of excellence continue this school year.

As always, the faculty and staff at AHS are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of each and every student, and I believe we will accomplish this by setting high academic expectations, making sure our students feel welcomed and supported, and giving our students unique opportunities that prepare them for college and career.

This year, I challenge our students and families to get involved and engage themselves in the school community. We have endless opportunities that await you. From our various academies and programs, such as the Academy of Engineering and Innovation and JROTC, to our 50+ clubs and athletics we stand by our motto - there's truly a place for you. Get involved. Volunteer. Discover relationships. And most importantly, be you.

Last year, our students accomplished amazing things. Our Class of 2022 Seniors garnered more than $41 million in scholarships. Our athletics shined, with many of our teams making it to the state playoffs. Our performing arts, including band, orchestra, choir, visual arts and theatre, captured countless awards, honors and rankings. Students took advantage of more shadowing opportunities, including at local businesses and the Memphis Grizzlies Media Team. And they increased their average ACT score by more than half a point.

I'm proud to say we set the bar high at AHS and our students continually step up to the plate. Let's continue the tradition this year. I encourage us all - students, teachers, administrators and parents - to be our best selves. Be the best Tiger you can be.

    Sincerely,
    Shannon Abraham
    AHS Principal
