National Beta Club
Believing that exemplary student effort and achievement should be encouraged and rewarded, and seeking to cultivate the ideals of service and leadership in our citizens of tomorrow, the governing body of the National Honorary Beta Club has instituted this organization for the promotion of these ideals and those stated in the Beta Creed, among elementary and secondary school students. The purpose of this organization shall be to promote the ideals of honesty, service, morality, ethical conduct, and leadership among elementary and secondary school students; to reward meritorious academic achievement
; and to encourage and assist students in continuing their education after high school.

National Honor Society
The purpose of the National Honor Society of Arlington High School shall be to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, and to encourage the development of character in students of Arlington High School.

International Thespian Society
The International Thespian Society is designed for high school students who are in grades 9-12. Founded in 1929, this honorary organization was created for recognizing the outstanding abilities and achievements of theatre student artists and technicians. The Thespian Society was inspired by Thespis, who was the first actor in Greek drama to speak alone on stage. His role in the development of performance set a foundation for the Thespian Society. Students earn the right to be inducted by accumulating points and hours for their work in the performing arts on stage and backstage. The Thespian Society strives to support the students who attain character, service, academic achievement, and artistic ability to bring art education to the school and to the community.
Members are able to participate in performances provided by AHS and the community, service projects, field trips, guest artist opportunities, and other experiences to enhance the education of art in Arlington High School and in the community.

Mu Alpha Theta
Mu Alpha Theta is an organization whose purpose is to stimulate interest in mathematics by providing public recognition of superior mathematical scholarship and by promoting various mathematical activities. It is co-sponsored by the Mathematical Association of America, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, and the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges. There

National Art Honor Society
National Art Honor Society
The National Art Honor Society (NAHS) is designed specifically for high school students in grades 10-12. In 1978, the National Art Education Association began the National Art Honor Society program to inspire and recognize students who have shown an outstanding ability and interest in art. The NAHS strives to aid members in attaining the highest standards in art scholarship, character, and service, and to bring art education to the attention of the school and community. Opportunities for national recognition, scholarships, and connectivity to 46,000+ outstanding art students are available to members of NAHS/NJAHS.
Members will participate in a number of service projects and experience art firsthand through school field trips to art galleries, open studio time, guest artist visits and by helping produce the Arlington High School Annual Art Show and Competition.

National English Honor Society
The National English Honor Society was conceived on March 25th, 2004 by Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society, as an outreach to high school students who have experienced the power of literature, the pleasures of good writing, and the excitement of language studies. Membership into this society is to be considered an honor bestowed on students selected for their accomplishments in the field of English, including such areas as literary analysis, media studies, composition, linguistic study, and creative writing. NEHS provides recognition for past achievement, nurturing of present interests, and encouragement for future success.

National Science Honor Society
The Science National Honor Society was organized in 2000 with the following objectives:
- Toencourage and recognize scientific and intellectual thought
- Toadvance students’ knowledge of classical and modern science
- Tocommunicate with the scientific community
- Toaid the civic community with its comprehension of science
- Toencourage students to participate in community service and in turn, encourage a dedication to the pursuit of scientific knowledge that benefits all of mankind.
The motto inscribed in Latin on the Science NHS shield translates: “Fortunate is one who understands the causes of things.”
The goal of the society is to build a science niche that offers talented students awards for achievement, encourage them to pursue the study of science, engineering, and mathematics in college, and provide them with new, innovative, and unique programs to enhance their skills. It also aids in understanding the importance of integrity, creativity, and leadership in the modern world of scientific research, business, and academia.

National Speech and Debate Association
The National Speech and Debate Association is the Honor
society for Speech. Membership is based on points earned atcompetition and advanced degrees can be achieved through continued competition. They may also receive points toward their advanced degrees for public speaking outside of competition and public service projects.

National Technical Honor Society
The National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) is designed specifically for high school students in grades 9 - 12. NTHS currently serves approximately 100,000 active members and nearly a million members since its inception in 1984. Awarding over $1.7 million in scholarships to date, NTHS honors the achievements of top CTE students, provides scholarships to encourage the pursuit of higher education, and cultivates excellence in today's highly competitive, skilled workforce. For over 30 years, NTHS has been the acknowledged leader in the recognition of outstanding student achievement in career and technical education.
NTHS requires a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and the nominee must be enrolled in a CTE (career and technical) education program. In addition to NTHS requirements, additional suggested criteria include credit hours completed, attendance, instructor nominations, disciplinary records, and CTSO (Career & Technical Student Organization) membership.

Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica
The Isabel Allende Chapter of the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica at Arlington High School is an honor society for those students excelling in Spanish. There are service-oriented projects done by the group and also as individuals.

Société Honoraire de Français
The purpose of the Société Honoraire de Français is to foster and encourage the study of the French language and culture. Qualifications for enrollment is first by teacher invitation only. French Honor Society members participate in tutoring French to AHS students and are given the opportunity to experience leadership in serving as officers and directing the initiation ceremony.

Tri-M Music Honor Society
Tri-M Music Honor Society
Tri-M Music Honor
Society , is a high school music honor society and is a program of the National Association for Music Education. It is designed to recognize students for their academic and musical achievements and to provide leadership and service opportunities to young musicians. Each school has its own chapter, which is run by the students but supervised by an advisor or sponsor, usually a school teacher. There are approximately 6200 participating chapters in several countries.

Active Minds (Student Mental Health Advisory Council)
Student Mental Health Advisory Council
This council aims to address the mental health stigma that exists within the school and the local community. This group of students is comprised of individuals who are passionate about wellness and advocating for mental health. This is an excellent leadership opportunity for students who are passionate about creating a culture of support for students with mental health-related issues. These students will work with the ACS Social and Transition Specialist to spread awareness about mental health issues affecting students, reduce the stigma associated with mental health issues, and create a welcoming and accepting school environment.

Advocates for Human Rights aims to create a safe space to have the discussions that matter. Science Olympiad is a competitive science team of students that organize, practice, and compete in two Science Olympiads: a local Invitational in December, and a regional Science Olympiad in late February. These competition feature over 20 events including lab exercises and written exams. When our team places in the regional Science Olympiad our team may compete at the TN State Science Olympiad.

Short Film Committee
Short Film Committee is dedicated to giving students who have a passion for filmmaking an opportunity to create films outside of the classroom. The committee aims to bring people with the same interests together to make some creative, thought-out short films that can be showcased online and submitted for awards. SFC wants to give students the opportunity to create films they want to see on the screen. SFC takes away the rubrics and guidelines to give filmmakers total creative freedom. Youth Court
Memphis/Shelby County Juvenile Court Youth Court is a juvenile delinquency diversion and peer- justice program that "uses restorative justice principles, dedicated to rehabilitating first-time nonviolent offenders--holding them accountable for their behaviors and educating them about citizenship. The student volunteers are trained to prosecute, defend and to serve as bailiffs and jurors in “real” sentencing hearings of juvenile offenders." AHS student YC members meet monthly to discuss issues as it relates to juveniles and their experiences with the courts.
