    At Donelson Elementary

STEM, standing for science, technology, engineering and mathematics, is important because it's a part of our everyday lives. In Donelson's STEM program, we challenge our students to create, collaborate, communicate and think critically, and most importantly, we allow our students to fail so they may grow in their learning. Instead of teaching disciplines in independent subject silos, lessons are well rounded, project and inquiry based, with a focus on interdisciplinary learning. STEM aligns with the way we work and solve problems in our daily lives, making it an exceptional way of instructing and learning.

With STEM we are teaching skills the way they will be used in the workforce, and the real world.

I am married to Rev. Craig Batson, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Covington. We have three adult children; a teacher, a minister, and one with significant special needs. Our son-in-law is a mechanic and our daughter-in-law is a teacher. I enjoy Bible journaling, scrapbooking, sewing, making jewelry, and gardening. Teaching is my passion and I look forward to working with your child as we explore, design, create, problem solve, and collaborate through science, technology, engineering, and math.
