• Student Lead Proposals

Students are able to meet with our administration and leadership team on matters important to them. After an initial meeting with our principal, a small group of students were encouraged to build a presentation that included their ideas, specific ideas to address their ideas, and data to back up their proposal that they would present to the AMS Leadership Team in person. This group of students interviewed and collected data from their peers and teachers, developed a presentation and then presented it in front of the leadership team and school administration.

  • Fostering Student Choice

Many teachers will employ student choice in classroom activities and projects. This means that while all students will be learning the same material, how they take what they are learning and show what they are learning, may vary from student to student. Some students like speaking up in class, while others prefer to use their voice on paper or an audio file. Allowing students to choose how and what they create to present for a project or activity, gives students agency and power over their learning.
