• STEM I - Design Challenge

The 2022 Tennessee STEM Innovation Network State-wide Design Challenge asked students to observe the infrastructure in their communities, assess the issue, and imagine how they could make their community a better place through their problem-solving. Winning 1st place at the state was the team at Arlington Middle School, Blake Cobb, Ashlynn Harrahill, and Logan Hink. This team had to present their ideas live via Zoom to the panel of judges.

As part of their project development, students were able to meet with a University of Memphis seismologist to learn more about earthquakes and how they impact structures.

After winning their award, they were featured in an ACS news article published on our site, Facebook page, and ACS Twitter feed. Click here to read the article in which they were featured.
