Congratulations to Morgan Hipp for being named the Patriot Bank Student of the Month for September! Morgan was selected by the Arlington High School English Department for exemplifying the tenants of the Portrait of an ACS Graduate, which include Communicate Effectively, Collaborate Intetionally, Cultivate Creativity, Be Resilient and Lead with Empathy. Here's what the selection committee had to say about Morgan:

Morgan Hipp immediately comes to mind when thinking about the innovators of the future. She is an outstanding student academically, taking a number of honors and Advanced Placement courses and maintaining a strong GPA. However, Morgan is much more than just a student. She is a very empathetic young woman who volunteers with our Best Buddies Club and with the Happi Dog Rescue organization. Her empathy also extends to her peers at the high school through her collaboration as a member of student council to provide unique opportunities for the student body as a whole. She has served as a freshman orientation leader, a Toys for Tots participant, and as a facilitator for the Southern Association of Student Councils conference held at Arlington High School. In addition, she led a workshop on leadership at a Tennessee Association of Student Councils convention.

Morgan’s hard work has earned her membership in numerous honor societies on campus including the National English Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, the National Honor Society, and the National Beta Club. Morgan’s strongest attribute is her creativity. She has studied theatre, dance and art throughout her high school career. In fact, she was a regional finalist for the International Shakespeare Competition in 2022 and 2nd runner up in the same contest in 2021. She was awarded the High School Musical Theatre award for best poster and playbill design in 2022. Her true passion is dance and she was awarded a scholarship to attend the Governor’s School for the Arts Summer Intensive in 2021.

Morgan’s resilience shines through all of these accomplishments. She spends long hours at rehearsals, dance practice, and preparing for Student Council activities and volunteer work. Despite these long hours, she never loses her focus on her course work or her positive attitude and cheerful smile.

The Patriot Bank Student of the Month program will recognize one student in the months of September - April. One of those eight students will then be selected for a $1,000 scholarship sponsored by Patriot Bank.
