Diverse Learning Opportunities
At Arlington High SchoolThe diverse academic curriculum includes Honors, Advanced Placement, Dual Credit and Dual Enrollment courses. The curriculum also features opportunities in the areas of Fine Arts and Career & Technical Education. AHS partners with several universities and colleges to provide our students with dual credit and dual enrollment courses, including the University of Memphis, the University of Tennessee Martin, Southwest Tennessee Community College and Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT)! AHS is also home to three thriving academies that help get students ready for their next phase in life, be it college or the workforce. These academies include the Academy of Engineering & Innovation, Collegiate Academy and PAVE Fine Arts Academy (Performing Arts & Visual Experience).

Graduation Requirements
By graduation, our students must have completed the following:
Course Credit English 4.00 Mathematics (Including Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and a 4th higher level math course) 4.00 Science (Including Biology, Chemistry or Physics, and a 3rd lab course) 3.00 Social Studies (U.S. History & Geography, World History & Geography, U.S. Government & Civics, and Economics) 3.00 Wellness & Physical Education* 1.50 Personal Finance 0.50 Fine Arts 1.00 Foreign/World Languages (two years of same language) 2.00 Elective Focus (Math & Science, CTE, Humanities/Liberal Arts, Advanced Placement, Journalism, etc.) 3.00 Total Credits 22 Students must take English and Mathematics each year in high school. Students taking Physical Science and/or Algebra I Honors and/or Foreign Language prior to entering high school must take an additional 4 units of mathematics, 3 units of science and 2 years of the same foreign language in grades 9 - 12 in order to meet Tennessee Diploma Project graduation requirements.
*The physical education requirement may be met by substituting an equivalent time of physical activity in other areas including but not limited to marching band, JROTC, cheerleading, interscholastic athletics, and school sponsored intramural athletics. Diploma Types
Arlington Community Schools offers five different high school diploma types: General Education Diploma, General Education Diploma with State Honors, General Education Diploma with State Distinction, Honors Diploma, and a Special Education Diploma.
