Learn More About the BioSTEM Lab
Course Description
Upon completion of this course, students will have a thorough understanding of how scientists research problems and apply BioSTEM knowledge and skills. They will be able to present and defend a scientific rationale (explanation) to comprehensive BioSTEM scenarios. This program will introduce them to basic laboratory skills used in post-secondary education and in a real-world laboratory setting.

Course Description
Cybersecurity
The Cybersecurity program of study offers a sequence of courses that provides coherent and rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare students for further education and cybersecurity-related careers in the Information Technology career cluster. Students will develop knowledge in security integration, application of cybersecurity practices and devices, ethics, and best practices management. The fundamental skills in this program covers both in house and external threats to network security and design, how to enforce network level security policies, and how to safeguard an organization’s information.
Coding
Students will understand and utilize the programming syntax, read and understand program code, troubleshoot and debug existing code. The students plan, organize and write clear economical code and programming algorithms. Students also focus on developing and programming projects as solutions to various problems. -
Learn More About the Fablab
Course Description
The Fablab (Fabrication Lab) is a center for innovation, collaboration and learning. Students and faculty are able to utilize the Fablab to create parts, structures, signs, and various projects related to their respective curriculums. This innovative platform offers several computer-controlled tools and machines which support 3-D printing, Laser engraving, Vinyl printing, and CNC ShopBot tooling.
Using the ShopBot, users are able to design and print an array of products using several types of materials. Laser cutting uses a laser to cut various materials. It’s typically used for industrial manufacturing applications, but can also be used in other settings. Laser cutting works by using a computer to control the output of a high-powered laser in order to cut material. These machines introduce learners to modern prototyping and fabrication equipment. By doing so, it gives them experience at an earlier stage than usual. This allows students to leave high school with marketable skills. This lab supports all other labs and classes within the school. -

Course Description
Machining is designed to provide students with skills and knowledge to be effective in production environments as a machinist, CNC operator, or supervisor.
Students in this course will demonstrate safety practices concerning machining technology, proper measurement and layout techniques, reading and interpreting drawings and blueprints, production design processes, and quality control procedures. Upon completion of this course, students will be knowledgeable about potential postsecondary education and career opportunities related to machining technology and will be prepared to enroll in more advanced machining courses in high school. This course is in partnership with Southwest Tennessee Community College. Students are able to obtain an industry certification with this course. -
Learn More About the Mechatronics Lab
Course Description
Mechatronics is an applied course in manufacturing for students interested in learning more about careers as a mechatronics technician, maintenance technician, electromechanical technician, and manufacturing engineer. The course has focus on electrical and mechanical components of mechatronics systems as well as their combined uses with instrument.
Proficient students are able to describe and explain basic functions of physical properties and electrical components within a mechatronic system. Students can logically trace ther eflow of energy through a mechatronic system and can communicate this process to others. Finally, students develop strategies to identify, localize, and correct malfunctioning components and equipment. This course is in partnership with Southwest Tennessee Community College. -

The STEM Lab is accessible to students, teachers, and faculty members. A variety of production equipment including 3D printers, laser cutters, hand-held power tools, and multimedia devices are all a part of the STEM lab. The equipment serves as a foundation, but the overall goal is for students to work together to learn, collaborate, and share.

Learn More About the Welding Lab
Course Description
Welding is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge to effectively perform cutting and welding applications used in the advanced manufacturing industry.
Proficient students will develop proficiency in fundamental safety practices in welding, interpreting drawings, creating computer aided drawings, identifying and using joint designs, efficiently layout out parts for fabrication, basic shielded metal arc welding, mechanical and thermal properties of metals, and qualify control. This program is in partnership with Tennessee College for Applied Technology (TCAT). Students are able to obtain an industry certification with this course.
