Dean Anderson named March's Patriot Bank Student of the Month

a male student holds an award certificate for being student of the month

Congratulations to Dean Anderson for being named the Patriot Bank Student of the Month for March! Dean was selected by the Arlington High School Career & Technical Education (CTE) Department for exemplifying the tenants of the Portrait of an ACS Graduate, which include Communicate Effectively, Collaborate Intentionally, Cultivate Creativity, Be Resilient and Lead with Empathy. Here's what the selection committee had to say about Dean:

“As we review the qualities of our Portrait of an ACS GraduateDean exemplifies many of these traits.  Dean is an extremely effective communicator.  When we helped review and edit his project for the State DECA convention, we were extremely impressed by his writing style and ability. Dean also exhibited effective communication skills during our recent DECA trip to Orlando. He demonstrates tremendous leadership skills both on and off campus.  This year, Dean served as the Vice President of Administration for DECA and has been a tremendous help to all the advisors.  He jumps in and does any task he is asked to do, is always super positive, and often goes above and beyond to help others.

As a student, he has excelled in many subject areas, but especially Advanced Computer Applications, where he has received almost all of his MOS Certifications in just a short time. He has also been accepted into the Engineering program at UT Knoxville. Dean is the kind of driven, engaging, and curious student that helps make our classroom a great environment, and he is always willing to go above and beyond to get the job completed.” - nomination written by Laurinda Lamb & Amy Webb

The Patriot Bank Student of the Month program will recognize one student in the months of September - April. One of those eight students will then be selected for a $1,000 scholarship sponsored by Patriot Bank.
